Journal
Take a peek into my life, if you like. I've been keeping a personal journal for more than twenty years and with Outside The Boxx I will share a somewhat filtered version of these regular musings with anyone who cares to visit. I don't share ALL of my deepest, darkest thoughts and activities with the whole, wide, world; especially if what I'm writing about involves other, innocent people. However, I do keep it pretty real, heartfelt, and my hope is that readers will get more than a voyeuristic thrill from stopping by (though that can be fun too). If the struggles I deal with, the challenges I overcome (or don't), and the unique way I choose to live my life might have some impact on others, then I couldn't be happier. I try to be careful with my writing style as well. I write, I edit, and maybe even rewrite some more. I strive to be a good writer and storyteller, not just a blogger. And so I share.
Each month is posted in its own section. Each day is posted in chronilogic order with the first day of each month at the top of the page, continuing on, keeping pace with a calendar as you scroll down the page. I do not use reverse chronology, which is the format most blogs use, because my journal is often relating an ongoing narrative story. To get the whole picture you might want to go to the archives and start from the beginning, then skip through the posts as they suit you, lingering on the ones that captivate you most.
I don't write every day, not even in my private journal. Sometimes I'm too busy living the things I'll write about later. Other times my life is boring and there isn't anything worth writing about. However, I do write every week and I will post something new on the journal at least once a week, usually on Saturdays, if not sooner. Whenever you stop by OutsideTheBoxx.net go to "What's New" first. It will give you a brief review of the most recent posts to the various facets of the site.
And please, pretty please, share your comments, thoughts, and feedback with me. Let me know you are here, reading some of my words. I used to think I wrote, and created OutsideTheBoxx.net, mostly for myself. However, whenever I do hear from someone I get validation that there are people out there in the world (real and cyberspace) connecting with me and it is thrilling. I get inspired to write and share all the more.
