The wind turned bad so Bob will have to skip a day, or two, of surfing. Our luggage has supposedly been found but is scheduled for delivery to Lisa’s home until Friday. She promises we aren’t overstaying our welcome so we’ve relaxed into staying put a bit longer. We plan to head in Ed and Lesley’s direction (a friend we haven’t met yet, introduced to us by my friends in Atlanta who emigrated from South Africa decades ago) by Saturday. For now, there is nothing we can do other than recover from our jet lag and appreciate Lisa every day.

Despite all the hassles and sleep deprivation the “adventure” of getting here was a challenge we met and where successful with, mostly due to Bob’s extraordinary logistical strategies. And, I met some absolutely wonderful people along the way so I don’t begrudge a thing that happened.
Though things have been hectic and I’ve yet to see much more than airports and cities, I have now seen Table Mountain on a lovely, clear day so I know my dream to visit Africa has come true.
