Stopped on our way out of town and Carmen and Torty’s house for some tea and to exchange contact info. Everyone is so helpful here. Went looking for surf but after half a dozen stops at various breaks, even the secret ones that Torty told Bob about, we couldn’t find anything worth getting wet for. Our last chance was Nature’s Valley where we planned to spend the night. There was enough of a swell to catch a few waves. I sunbathed and read the afternoon away while Bob surfed by himself in the Indian Ocean. The store was closed when we got to it for groceries so we at burgers at the one and only eatery in Nature’s Valley. Got to our little camping cabin in the dark so I couldn’t really get a lay of the land. The beds are super hard and pretty small and the fresh varnish on the floors and logs made it so we had to keep the door and window open all night, the heater on, and make use of all the provided blankets.
