Start at Dutchman Flat. Elevation 5,800 ft.

Warm day but the snow is still firm enough.

Bob goes on ahead at his near 4 mph pace. I’ll catch up.

Bob has his snowboard along.

Bluebird day.

South and Middle Sister, also Broken Top

Swampy Lakes below, starting to get swampy.

Looking east to Vista Butte and Paulina in the distance.

We make the summit in less than an hour. 7,775

Dawn makes the summit in a bit more than an hour.

Bob drops in to the north face of Tumalo

Bob keeps riding north, I snowshoe down the route we climbed. Bob hikes back to the top then snowboards to the parking lot.

Steep cirque, wet crappy snow, but going for it anyway.

Now he’s having fun.
