The cute and clean chalet at the edge of pond on what was once a working farm provides a free breakfast in the cafe next door so we were up and eating by 7:30 then made our way back to Addo Elephant National Park where we spent the entire, long day wildlife watching. First we hired a local “hop on” guide who rode in our vehicle with us and directed us through the park for two hours. We had lots of close up experiences with elephant, wart hogs, and a variety of antelope. After a couple hours rest and research at the main concessions area we went on a horseback safari into a part of the park with all the same animals as the main park but without lions and hyena. No sense having our horses taken for supper. Back at the chalet by 7 PM for a nice hot shower and another night in super firm beds.
